Born in Panama and raised in New York City, Monica Shaw studied Political Science with a concentration in Law and International Studies at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. She has worked in many corporate management settings including the retail, law, and airline industries. Currently, Monica is the Executive Director of the non-profit organization she co-founded, Deliverance Children’s Ministry, Inc. (DCM). DCM is dedicated to partnering with parents to provide youth with a village of supports, including family workshops, tutoring, enrichment, career and leadership development, financial literacy, and college access programming. Monica is also the Director of the Triangle Park Community Center, a ministry of Episcopal Jersey City, which provides youth services, a food pantry, and wraparound services to families in the Greenville neighborhood of Jersey City. Monica is the mother of two children who attend a public charter school in Jersey City.
